Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Dear parents                                                                              22 December 2010

With Christmas music in the background, overcrowded shopping malls and a Father Christmas posing patiently with stary eyed children, the Christmas feeling is there to be touched. My five year old is counting down the sleeps with the help of an advent calender. This morning he announced overly excited that there are only two more sleeps before Father Christmas is going to slide down the chimney. We had to go through the check list to make sure everything is prepared for Friday night: the cookies, the milk, the most accessible position for the cookies and milk and, most importantly, the drop off zone for the gifts.

For us as adults, Christmas is a magical time when we experience it through the eyes of our children. It is a great recipe for total relaxation when we focus on our children during this festive season. It takes away the unnecessary stress that we so easily load onto our shoulders. This festive season should always remind us about another child who was born to be a King - the birth of Jesus our saviour!

This winding down time also allows us to reflect on 2010. We would like to extend a huge thank you to you - our very supportive parents. Thank you for allowing us to expose your children to academic excellence. Thank you for the support that you give to your children to enable us to achieve this goal. The Christmas show has proved to the audience that our children are capable of almost anything! Congratulations to your child for performing accordingly.

We are very excited for the new year! 2011 is going to be a great new start for Springfield Preparatory School. The extended classrooms allow for goal orientated interior which will enhance teaching. The extra space will also give more freedom to the learners to express themselves. We are also proud to introduce the complete foundation phase: grade 1, 2 and 3. Please do not stop praying for us as we are going to embark on this challenging, but very exciting expedition.

Enjoy every minute of this festive season with your children and remember: wise men still seek Him.

Regards,

Cornel
